Sixth Hive Trust & Safety Policy
Effective Date: 15 June 2026 Version: 1.1
Sixth Hive is a professional platform for individual members. This Trust & Safety Policy explains what we will not allow on the platform, how we enforce those rules, how members can report concerns and what to expect when they do.
1. What is not allowed
- Content that is illegal under the laws of the United Kingdom, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, content inciting violence, fraud and hate speech
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or stalking
- Discrimination or incitement to discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic
- Promotion of self-harm, suicide or eating disorders
- Sexualisation of any person, including non-consensual intimate imagery
- Misrepresentation of identity, credentials, employment or achievements
- Spam, unsolicited commercial messages, coordinated promotional campaigns or attempts to manipulate platform engagement
- Malware, phishing links, scams or content intended to defraud
- Infringement of intellectual property or privacy rights
- Doxxing or sharing personal information without consent
2. How to report
Every post, comment, profile, Hive and message on Sixth Hive has a “Report” option. Reports go to our Trust & Safety queue. You can also email safety@sixthhive.com. We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and to take an initial decision within:
- As quickly as possible, and in any event within hours, for content that appears to involve child safety, terrorism or imminent threats to life
- 24 hours for other content that appears to be illegal under UK law
- 72 hours for other policy violations
These are targets, not contractual commitments. Some reports require longer investigation. Our moderation resourcing is documented internally and reviewed regularly.
3. How we review
All reports are reviewed by a trained reviewer applying this policy and the Terms of Service. Where context is unclear, reviewers may contact the poster for clarification. Illegal content is acted on regardless of whether the poster engages.
4. Possible actions
- Educational notice to the poster (first, minor violation)
- Content removal (clear violation)
- Restriction such as read-only mode or posting limits
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent termination
- Referral to authorities where required by law or to prevent harm
5. Appeals
If you believe a decision was wrong, you can appeal by emailing safety@sixthhive.com within 30 days. Appeals are reviewed by a different reviewer than the original decision-maker. We aim to respond within 14 days.
6. Illegal content
Sixth Hive complies with its duties under the Online Safety Act 2023 and acts swiftly to remove illegal content once aware of it. Where required, we report content to the relevant authorities, including the Internet Watch Foundation for suspected child sexual abuse material, counter-terrorism authorities for terrorist content, and Action Fraud for suspected fraud.
7. Cooperation with law enforcement
Sixth Hive responds to lawful requests from law enforcement in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Investigatory Powers Act 2016. Requests should be sent to info@sixthhive.com. We notify affected members where legally permitted.
8. Transparency
Sixth Hive will publish an annual Trust & Safety Transparency Report from the first full year of operation. The report will include high-level numbers of reports received, actions taken, illegal-content referrals and appeal outcomes.
