Sixth Hive is a place for individuals to discover opportunities, build relationships and run interest-based communities. These guidelines exist so the platform stays useful, respectful and safe.

 

They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Trust & Safety Policy. If anything in these guidelines contradicts the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service apply.

What Sixth Hive is for

• Meeting people you would not otherwise have met
• Joining or running Hives around shared interests, industries or goals
• Sharing what you are working on, what you are learning and what you need help with
• Creating and attending events that move conversations forward
• Using AI tools that help you write, find and engage faster

Be real

• Use your real name and an accurate professional title
• Use a profile photo that shows you
• Do not impersonate other people, brands or organisations
• Do not misrepresent your qualifications, employment, experience or achievements

 

If you would not say it in a professional context with your name attached, do not say it on Sixth Hive.

Be respectful

• Disagree without being personal
• Assume good intent until evidence says otherwise
• Use the language and tone you would in a face-to-face professional conversation
• Be patient with people who are earlier in their journey than you are

Be safe

We do not allow content or behaviour that:

 

• Is illegal under UK or US law, including content that sexualises children, promotes terrorism, incites violence or commits fraud
• Harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates other members
• Discriminates against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, immigration status, union membership or any other protected characteristic
• Promotes self-harm, suicide or eating disorders
• Shares another person’s private information without consent
• Sexualises any person, including through non-consensual intimate imagery

 

If you see something that crosses a line, use the in-product Report button or email safety@sixthhive.com. We acknowledge reports within 24 hours.

Be useful

• Add to conversations rather than repeating them
• Share what you actually know, not what you are guessing
• When you are wrong, say so. Members respect this more than performance
• Recommend other members, content or Hives generously when they will help someone

Don’t spam

• No mass DMs to people you have not met
• No copy-paste outreach
• No coordinated promotion across multiple accounts
• No scraping member data for outside contact lists
• No fake engagement (botted likes, traded comments, vote rings)

 

If you have something to sell, the right way to introduce it is through value: a post that helps people, a Hive that gathers the right audience, an event that creates a moment. Not a cold pitch in a member’s inbox.

Don’t game the system

• Do not manipulate ranking, visibility, search or recommendations
• Do not abuse AI features to mass-generate content
• Do not create multiple accounts to amplify your own activity
• Do not use bots, scrapers or automated tools without our permission

Use AI honestly

AI tools on Sixth Hive help you write and find. They do not replace your judgement.

 

• Read what you publish before publishing it
• Do not pass off AI output as research you have not done
• Do not use AI to impersonate, mislead or manipulate

When things go wrong

We try to be proportionate. A first minor breach usually gets a friendly reminder. Repeated or serious breaches get content removed, restrictions applied, accounts suspended or accounts removed. For illegal content we act immediately and may notify the relevant authorities.

 

If you disagree with an action we have taken, you can appeal by emailing safety@sixthhive.com within 30 days. A different team member reviews your appeal.
