Sixth Hive Copyright Policy
Effective Date: 15 June 2026 Version: 1.0
Sixth Hive respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its members to do the same. This policy explains how to notify us of copyright infringement on the Sixth Hive platform and how we handle those notices under the UK Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
1. Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe content on Sixth Hive infringes your copyright, send a written notice to:
Email: copyright@sixthhive.com Post: Copyright Agent, Sixth Hive Ltd, 176 Franciscan Road, London, England, SW17 8HH
Your notice must include all of the following:
- Your full name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The exact URL or location on Sixth Hive of the allegedly infringing content.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action. Submitting a false notice may expose you to liability for damages, including costs and legal fees.
2. What we do with your notice
We review every valid notice. If the content appears to infringe copyright we will:
- Remove or disable access to the content
- Notify the member who posted it and provide a copy of your notice (without your contact details where possible)
- Keep a record of the notice in our copyright register
We act as quickly as we reasonably can. Time taken depends on the volume of notices and the complexity of the claim.
3. Counter-notice
If you are the member whose content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or that the use was authorised (for example, the material is in the public domain, you hold a licence, or the use is fair dealing or fair use), you can send a counter-notice to:
Email: copyright@sixthhive.com
Your counter-notice must include:
- Your full name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Identification of the content that was removed and the location where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in your judicial district (US members) or the courts of England and Wales (UK members), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. We may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days, unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action to seek a court order against you.
4. Repeat infringers
Sixth Hive will terminate the accounts of members who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers under the standards required by DMCA Section 512(i).
5. Trademarks
This policy covers copyright complaints. If you believe content on Sixth Hive infringes a trademark, please email legal@sixthhive.com with the equivalent information adapted for trademark.
